Senior Daily Update (seniordailyupdate.com)
Senior Daily Update is a daily news web site and email newsletter for seniors (55 and over). We are in development mode for our business and have some very interesting relationships which will enable us to reach the senior market regionally across the United States. Our goal is to be *the* place for seniors to get the information they value every day. Creating a comfortable, easy to use experience that provides valuable information is critical to our success. We are a mix of the traditional and modern.
Our target audience is seniors 55 and up across the country. Our site is customized by region in terms of content. They are interested in news, health, entertainment, food, travel, and good deals.
Our initial thoughts are that we want a logo that mimics traditional newspaper logos (like NY Times, LA TImes) but has a modern edge and is legible at a range of sizes. There is an opportunity to customize the logo by region (e.g. New York City Edition). We think we want more of a word mark logo than any graphics but are open to graphics.
The three main colors of our design are black, white, and red highlights. We will also have colors indicating different categories of content. The site http://theglobeandmail.com is an example of a site with these colors.
It would be ideal if the design used a commercially available font if possible (or at least was mostly based on that)
The new site design will have larger fonts and lots of white space in the design.
I have attached an example design for our site but the logo is in plain Times Roman. This design will likely be changing as we iterate our web site design but it should give you an idea of the overall style we are trying to achieve.
The current design on the site (http://seniordailyupdate.com) is a commercial theme that is line with our thinking as well.
The logo must work in a single color if more than one color is proposed.
