We are an online auction company. Think of an Bidz.com, uBid.com or eBay, but with live auctions instead of timed auctions. We sell a very wide variety of items, including gold, jewelry, coins, watches, antiques, art and cars. Often, but not always, with a starting bid of just one dollar. The idea behind the name is that we make going to an (online) auction easy and fun.
Our slogan is "Bid, Win, Tada!" with Tada being the fanfare sound you might hear in a magic show .... Ta-Da!
The implication is that buying at auction at BidsTada! is fun, fast, easy but also safe and secure, with the highest quality merchandise.
Our target audience is very broad - anyone who would be in the market to buy gold, jewelry, coins, watches, antiques, art and cars, especially if they are looking for a great deal or a bargain.
There are, of course, many thousands of people who just love going to -- and buying at -- auctions. We've never been able to peer through our computers at our customers when they bid, but we imagine that many of them bid and buy things at our site because it's fun to win things at an auction.
We'd like them to know that this is a fun -- yet secure, honest and reputable -- place to buy at auctions online.
One more thing...most of our goods are "seized" or "liquidated" assets from estates, divorces, foreclosures, and the like. Sometimes, the items are just a real fantastic, great deal. In all cases, our items are 100% genuine and as described.
* We need to use mixed case characters so the words are easy to read.
* The two words should be in different colors so that the words are easy to distinguish unless you can accomplish this in the design itself.
Note: If you do the two words, "Bids" and "Tada" together in all upper or all lower case, it's very hard to read: BIDSTADA. It often gets read as "BidStada"...and that's not what we want. That's why we specify mixed case and different colors.
* The colors should be web safe colors, as many as you want ... we like using a blue as one of the colors.
Deliverables would be the logo itself, in the following formats:
* PSD or Illustrator format
* Static GIF, or PNG or JPG
Note: We'll be placing the logo into a Wordpress magazine-style theme. We haven't chosen one yet, but if you want to imagine one of the StudioPress themes (http://www.studiopress.com), such as Allure, Enterprise, or Lifestyle (all very different) it would be helpful.
A later project might be to help us incorporate the logo into the theme, as well as creating a CSS for us to use on the live auction pages themselves. (That is not fomally a part of this project, though you can include it in your bid and thinking, if you can do this kind of work. It may help us select you.
Important: We may also want to animate the logo as a separate project, so keep that in mind as well.
