How Phil & Nikkea started their logo design journey

Summary

Successful husband & wife entrepreneur team want to create a personal brand online & in the media. This logo will be used on our website, blog, information products, & as a branding tool for online & offline media & social networks. Our colors are forest green & gold (shimmery metallic). We'd like a clean, professional, high-end looking logo that gives a sense of power, integrity, elegance, & inspiration. We help entrepreneurs grow their businesses (& themselves) quickly, sustainably & profitably.

What inspires you and how do you envision the design for your business?

We want a logo designed for our personal brand. We are professional speakers/trainers/consultants who help entrepreneurs grow their businesses. We combine proven, effective strategies to build profitable businesses with integrity & spirit based laws of attraction. We provide ways for clients to attract ideal clients, increase their sales conversion, build and lead a strong team, be client-centered, systemize their business for sustainable, scalable growth. We also have personal growth tools for them to transform their limiting beliefs and create and organize ideal living and working environments. Health, ecology & sustainability on all levels are important principles to us in business & personal life.
Our current website is http://www.philandnikkea.com - it needs a major overhaul of design and we're starting with the logo. We don't like anything in the visual design.

Wants

Logo Must Include Name: "Phil & Nikkea"
Must Include Tagline: "Where Entrepreneurs Go To Grow"

We are positioning ourselves as the high end leaders of the speaking/training/consulting industry, so it must have an elegant, sophisticated, prestigious, quality, luxury, classy, even royal feel that's fresh, clean & professional. Like the Rolls Royce/ Rolex/ Ritz Carlton/Diamond level of our industry.
We like clean, simple, elegant lines.

Relationship of logo graphic & name:
It might be nice to have the logo be the "&" sign of "Phil & Nikkea", but not attached to that. Since we're husband & wife, it would be nice if the graphic showed a physical closeness or connection between the "Phil & Nikkea" names somehow, as well as a balance between masculine and feminine.

Font: prefer san serif w/ rounded vs. sharp edges

Colors:
Primary Color: Gold (shimmery mettalic)
Reason why: gold represents purpose, spiritual love, divine gold glows and radiates, it’s a desire for power and spiritual mysteries, attainment, wealth, opulence, success, riches

Secondary Color: Forrest Green (a rich, deep jewel tone green - Pantone color: 3305C - 343C )
Reason why: green represents sustainability, healthy lifestyle, freshness, growth, renewal, harmony, diplomacy; green is the color of money, prosperity
Tertiary Color: Black
Reason why: black represents power, elegance, strength, authority
Fourth Color: White
Reason why: want lots of white space because white represents purity, truth, union, divinity, peace; it renews the soul’s experience of the moment

Additional notes about color:
Our plan is to have each course offering and info product (including book & product series) keep the gold and black brand colors, and each will have a different tertiary color in exactly the same location, like a template.
This will provide a sense of continuity through a curriculum.

We’ve chosen this because:
The sign of the archer symbolizes the projection of self toward new horizons both literally (long voyages of exploration) and metaphorically (deep or far reaching)

Circle with a dot in the center: a circle with center point represents the creative spark of divine consciousness that exists in every individual, linking him or her to the source and origin of life, and making him or her the co-creator of the world. In astrological psychology, it stands for the desire to live and the individual’s life energy. In the body, it symbolizes the heart, the blood circulation, and the backbone.
