Diet Doctor got their new logo design by running a design contest:
Logo for Diet Doctor

Website spreading the food revolution that helps people regain their health and weight by eating real food (processed sugar/starch is bad, all natural fats are fine).
Logo types to explore
Target audience: Educated people all over the world who want good health and can think differently. All ages although between 25-60 is most common. Primarily Western Europe and North America. I need two versions of the logo, one in English and one in Swedish. English: Diet Doctor (possibly with slogan: Real food for your health) Swedish: Kostdoktorn (possibly with slogan: Ät dig till en bättre hälsa) Regarding a possible character in the logo: Could be a simple (cartoonish?) doctor in scrubs (I am a family physician and a MD). A stethoscope could be used. Here are pictures of me if you want to include some similarity: http://www.kostdoktorn.se/pressbilder I want a professional and trustworthy logo but also a friendly and non-threatening one, even welcoming. DietDoctor.com is on the side of the people, giving out unconventional and free health information with no connection whatsoever to any companies selling related products. My English and Swedish websites/blogs are in the process of being completely redesigned and the logos are needed to complete this. Here is the current/old English website: http://www.dietdoctor.com UPDATED: Please NO apples, NO measurement tapes and NO generic doctor clip art. I want something with some originality or something more abstract. Also a note about all the leaves in the logos: these are ok but not necessarily the way to go. This is not a vegetarian website, far from it. The focus is on real food: meat, fish, veggies, eggs, real butter – and no processed food. More info: http://www.dietdoctor.com/lchf Possible alternatives to apples: real food, like an egg (perfect food). Or perhaps a plate with a steak and veggies if it's not too complicated for a logo... I'm thinking a simply drawn plate of steaming delicious food may be a good idea. UPDATE 2: Some designers are doing simple designs that emphasize the idea of "real food" as medicine. I think that may be the way to go. Preferably in some simple intuitive way, maybe even witty. Perhaps – but not at all necessarily – with a welcoming doctor character (probably just part of him then) in the logo. Could be a cartoonish character in green or blue scrubs and a warm and welcoming attitude. UPDATE 3: Time is running out and I still have not seen an abstract logo that I love. But the little green docs are looking better and better. That means that this contest will probably boil down to who can design him best. The text in the logo also needs to be good but I think the finalists will all get that part more or less right. Let's repeat the guidelines (feel free to ignore something if you have a better idea): He should probably wear green scrubs with short sleeves. A stethoscope (or something else) may be necessary to show he is a doctor. No mirror on forehead though as that is an obsolete symbol. Our doc needs to be likable, smart, sincere (no fake smiles) and look fit and very healthy. Plus with a warm and welcoming attitude. He probably should not be too young and not old, 30-something? We should be able to trust him with serious health advice even though it's sometimes unconventional (using real food as an important complement to medicine). He is a bit of a medical rebel, but with good reasons. He should have a passing resemblance to me (kostdoktorn.se/pressbilder). No exact likeness is required, just very generally. He should guide/help people by showing them real food. I'm thinking there may eventually need to be several variations, doing different things, a new one showing up when the webpage is reloaded. HOWEVER it is NOT NECESSARY to do several right away, it's better to get him right once first! Later variations could include showing different variations of real food (meat, fish, eggs, veggies, butter) or warning/disliking processed junk food, sugar (candy/soda) or refined starch (white bread).
