Vintage Lightworks
Established retailer of antique and vintage lighting with an existing website looking to expand into a segmented website featuring only reproduction antique and vintage lighting utilizing a shopping cart for immediate purchases. Most lighting fixtures are hand crafted in-house.
Middle to high end buyers of lighting in North America for homes and commercial properties including home owners, interior designers and architects. Most buyers represent the top 5% income bracket. Most commercial projects include restaurants, boutique hotels, spas, etc. Buyers are often attracted to our authentic hand finishing and overall design style.
The term "Lightworks" is supposed to conjour a turn of the century hand crafted manufacturing facility where the process is not overly mechanized and attention is placed on detail.
Please no light fixture or light bulb imagery, or whimsical themes. Design should convey hand crafted quality.
Dark browns and grays are appropriate. Other colors are of course welcome and preferred, but not too bright in keeping with a look a manufacturer may have had 100 years ago.
A horizontal logo to run accross the top of the website is necessary. The logo will also be used in magazine and direct mail advertising.
A competitor - http://www.rejuvenation.com/ - captures the look well with a simple type treatment which may be OK for us, but something slightly more elaborate might be preferrred.
A look at our existing website will give you an idea of the style and quality of our current offerings:http://www.pwvintagelighting.com You can see our logo is a type treatment with a small amount of styling. Would prefer this new logo to be slightly more advanced to convey a slightly more elegant feeling (emphasis on slightly).
A logo giving some style to the V and/or the L may be a good direction as a way to introduce more of the feel we're after, but without overly complicating the look.
