Attorney & Law
Appellate Press is a legal academic and professional publishing house. Its flagship publication is the United Kingdom Supreme Court Yearbook, the main audience for which is a professional legal market (e.g. academics, barristers, solicitors, judges etc.).
We are thinking the design might incorporate a simplified outline image of the United Kingdom Supreme Court building, with the words 'Appellate Press' (perhaps underneath?). Although this is our initial thought, we are open to other suggestions, including ones that do not include the UK Supreme Court building. It might be good to look at the logos of other academic publishers to get an idea of the feel we are going for (e.g. Oxford University Press and Cambridge University Press). To give you an idea of the look and feel of our flagship publication, the UK Supreme Court Yearbook, I have attached below: (1) a copy of the title page for a volume; (2) a copy of the front matter for a volume (including table of contents); (3) a photo of the front cover and spine of the hardbound book; (4) a copy of the blocking artwork for the front cover and spine. I have also attached a sketch of the UK Supreme Court Yearbook done by a famous artist, Stephen Wiltshire. We propose to include the logo on the front cover (in embossed gold leaf) replacing the words 'Appellate Press Ltd' and also on the title page in the dark colours / grey scale.
