How Glenn Gerhard started their logo design journey
Questor Enterprise Partners
Questor Enterprise Partners is a newly-established private equity investment firm that provides both capital and other resources to help privately-held companies grow and achieve their full potential. Our new firm is a true partner with the companies and management teams in which it invests, and is focused primarily on businesses in the information technology and healthcare sectors. Our firm looks to invest in small and medium-sized businesses, with the overriding objective of helping these companies achieve the "next level" of performance.
Our firm is unique in its approach to private equity investing, and seeks to communicate this through a modern, clean-looking logo for its website and all printed communications (e.g. business cards, etc). Our firm, however, is somewhat affiliated with a predecessor firm, "Questor Partners Fund", and while we want to continue to emphasie the letter "Q" in our logo (see attached for example of what we have been thinking), we want the logo to be reasonably different so that it differentiates the new firm from the old firm.
Tell us a bit about who you are and the people you reach
Target audience is the private equity market, including primarily entrepreneurs looking to sell their privately-held businesses, investment bankers, private equity fund managers, bankers generally, and other professionals (accountants, lawyers, business brokers) that we will be in contact with regularly. These persons are generally used to seeing professional, clearly-communicated information (including logos), and use the logo to help identify the nature of the company it represents. The logo therefore should be easily recognizable, and in a "clean/modern" format so that it translates well in both printed form on documents as well as for presentational (PowerPoint) purposes. The logo needs to fit with the overall company name of "Questor Enterprise Partners".
Please try to be creative with this logo, however to the degree possible we would like have some similarity to the attached example or, generally, emphasize the letter "Q" as it is the first letter of our company name. However, if you are able to devise a very clever logo that can be associated with the word "Questor" or the entity "Questor Enterprise Partners" (QEP), which could still precede the words "Questor Enterprise Partners" and look attractive (and like it makes sense, or "belongs"), then that would certainly be considered also. We will be sharing a main website page with the "old" Questor Partners Fund (QPF) business, at least for a while, at which page the viewer will have the option of selecting either the new "Questor Enterprise Partners" or the "old" Questor Partners Fund. The logo for the "old" business is very similar to the one attached here. We are basically looking for a new logo that differentiates the "new" QEP from the "old" QPF, but at the same time reflects some relationship to the old firm.
