Join The Community needs a new logo

We are an organization that builds community in schools, in businesses and at our experiential learning location in New Hampshire where we run retreats. We write curriculum for schools to implement that addresses Social and Emotional Learning.

Hey there, so we are looking for a logo and brand identity that says, progress, change and modernity but also education, research and groundedness. We have liked ideas that were both inherently "community" oriented such as stylized people in a circle, but we want to stay away from anything too obvious, especially holding hands. On the other hands, we've also liked ideas that are purely abstract. Something that is simply attractive, sleek and unique. I know that my descriptions leave it wide open, but we are looking for inspiration and we believe that it can come in any form. Our target audience is donors, teachers, parents and to a lesser extent teens. However, we definitely don't want anything too cartoonish. Thanks!
