I'm Joshua Forest, I'm a part time photographer based in Boston, creating an online e-commerce site. Primarily I take landscapes and architecture photographs. I am working on transitioning from my current 9-5 job to full time photographer.
Eventually I would like to be able to do more travel photography as well, it fits in quite well with landscapes and architecture.
I want my logo to convey a professional feel, something that I can put on business cards, my website, shipping labels, and the like.
I'm targeting anyone who wants unique printed and mounted landscape and architecture photography. People looking to brighten up their home, offices and businesses looking to give their offices a unique touch.
I need the logo to be professional, and clean. I need it to be in a couple of formats, one suitable for printing and one suitable for the logo on my new website.
The logo for my website would ideally be in a few different sizes. I would like to use this logo to "brand" myself on various websites such as flickr, deviantart, twitter, and facebook. I would also like to use a very small version as the favicon on my website. I would also like to use this logo for watermarking my photos online.
Please be creative with the logo!
I have put a basic drupal website up at http://jforestphotos.com with a nice free theme. I am definitely open to working with a successful designer on a second project afterward to brand this website with a better and more original theme. First things first however!
Here is an example of a logo I do like! I know it's for a contest that is in progress, but I like the very distinct icon, and the clean solid text. It doesn't have to be a rainbow of colors of course, just giving you an example of the style i am looking for.
Here is an example of a logo I do not like, too much text, drop shadow, yuck!
Please do not use any stock images or clip art in the logo
To reiterate, my requirements are the following:
1) graphic suitable for the web, and source files
2) graphic suitable for print, and the files
3) graphic suitable for a favicon (small and recognizable)
4) graphic suitable as a watermark (relevant source files as well!)
