Help Home Automation Geek with a new logo

I am trying to build a community site for home automation, homeautomationgeek.com. There is a lot of enthusiasm for home automation, and I want to bring it all together into a vibrant and supportive place where experts and newbies alike gather to seek inspiration from each other for their next projects (and brag about their accomplishments).

The current site is http://smart-home-automation-guide.com. You may use it as a resource to learn what home automation is. HOWEVER! It is not what I have in mind for a community or a brand, and should NOT be used as a template! Please see the attached "avatar" character, Kenneth Keegan. Kenneth is a HUGE home automation geek and is an example of who I am trying to attract to my community. I am looking for something that conveys community (but not overtly). I've also attached a few photos of myself, the "head geek" of the community. I don't have a good photo of myself playing with home automation stuff...but perhaps a good "cartoon" of me (perhaps interacting with the words) could do the trick.
