What the logo should be: clean, crisp, professional
What the logo should NOT be: balloon-like, ultra-modern
Accepted File Formats:
Any common, smoothly resizable format (PhotoShop, GIMP, etc are fine)
We'd like a logo that reflects quality and stability to our primary customers (CIO level and one level down). To that end, we're looking for a new logo (no reflective tables, balloon fonts -- think non-Web 2.0). We are based in the Pacific Northwest (Seattle, WA, USA).
To help define the logo, here are some reasons for our name:
Northwest - We live and focus our work in the Pacific Northwest, but we do work nation wide. (This is the minor part of our name.). We also thought NW was appropriate because we help companies find their direction/path (possibly incorporating a compass into the logo?)
Cadence - Definition:
1) Balanced, rhythmic flow, as of poetry or oratory.
2)The measure or beat of movement, as in dancing or marching.
We chose this part of the name to focus our brand on workflow, flow, repeatability, teamwork, collaboration, harmony (think teamwork - a marching band where everyone's in step).
Software development is currently a jerky, non-focused, chaotic process for most of our clients, where delivery date and overall cost is unpredictable. We provide services (training, consulting or a combo of the two) that simplify the development process and make it flow more smoothly, hit delivery dates on time, and make it more predictable. We work primarily (though not exclusively) with Microsoft software, and our clients use primarily MS software.
We would like to use either the entire logo, or part of it, on business cards and letterhead, as well.
** after logo is chosen, we'll be looking for a coded website design - possibly through this channel or working directly w/the designer who created the winning logo. If we find a logo we really like, we'd also like to establish a relationship with the designer for additional, related work as our business grows and changes.
