GANESHA TOURS AND TRAVEL CO., LTD.
We are a tour/travel/adventure/trekking service located in Siem Reap, Cambodia. Siem Reap is the gateway to the temples of Angkor, the main attraction being Angor Wat.
There are four essential elements we're looking for in this logo:
1) The "WELCOME TO ANGKOR" sign (file attached)
2) The Hindu diety known as "Ganesha"
3) Something that indicates the tropical jungles of Cambodia
4) The text: GANESHA TOURS AND TRAVEL CO., LTD. (on top) and CAMBODIA (on bottom)
It might prove very helpful to go to Wikipedia and research "Ganesha". He has an interesting story, and is considered in Hindu mythology as the diety of overcoming obstacles and is considered a symbol of good luck, good fortune and optimism.
More often than not, Ganesha has a more or less "neutral" expression, neither happy or sad. For our logo, we are looking for a happy/beckoning/playful/inviting expression. Think of a happy "Dumbo", or "Mighty Mouse".
When you read about the story of Ganesha on Wikipedia, you will find that it is important that he has one broken tusk, and at least four arms, each of which hold certain items, but this is flexible (such as if your design has one of the hands waving, saying "Hello!").
The element of jungle/tropical environment can be used as a background.
The text of GANSESHA TOURS & TRAVEL CO., LTD along with the word CAMBODIA should be of a "Papyrus" or "Sanskrit" font, something exotic and mysterious. The name of the company seems to be proper on top, with CAMBODIA on the bottom, but we're open to ideas.
The "WELCOME TO ANGKOR" sign colors as you can see are blue and white, and the jungle will be colors of green and yellow.
Also, on the sign please note that there is a Sanskrit message on top of the English, and this can be omitted. it's important to get the round sign, blue with white border and font, with "WELCOME TO ANGKOR" on it. Try to get as close to the font style as possible. I'll leave the colors of Ganesha up to you.
I've enclosed some different images of Ganesha, some that are modern graphic interpretations, and some that are the traditional renderings.
Something to keep in mind is the overall shape of the logo because we will be using it for a variety of purposes. Specifically, imagine it as a patch. Oval? Circular? Borders? Again, we're open to suggestions, use your imagination!
Essentially, we are giving the desinger a wide berth here, and listing only the key elements we are looking for in the design. When one reaches out and grabs us, we'll know it!
