Hello! I work for a leadership development company in Atlanta that is launching an internship this fall. However we pride ourselves on being innovative and we'd like to abandon typical corporate BS jargon. So instead of calling it an internship, we are calling it THE FORGE. It is a year-long apprenticeship focused on helping young men grow into better leaders both in the for-profit and non-profit sector. They will work in our business for a year gaining practical experience and valuable leadership training.
The name, THE FORGE, comes from 2 different sources:
1. A blacksmith forges iron into something of use--a sword, a knife, etc. That's the process these men will go through. For one year, we will forge them into leaders.
2. Valley Forge - Valley Forge is the place where the Continental Army spent the winter of 1777. It was a torturous winter with men dying in the elements. But the men who survived were eventually the ones who went on to win the war. Their time in Valley Forge "forged" them into leaders and warriors.
This logo should have a design element that represents either of the two above scenarios, but not both.
Tell us a bit about who you are and the people you reach
The only people who will be involved with this internship are young (22-26 yrs old) men who are highly motivated and have a passion for business and making a difference in the world. Our guys are outgoing and adventurous but also professional and business-minded.
The overall feel of this logo should be "gritty professionalism." Other words include...
-- Lightly reminiscent of corporate America but not boring corporate
THIS LOGO SHOULD HAVE...
-- The words "THE FORGE" as the main attraction with one other design/icon element incorporated
-- A typeface that is modern and clean, not gothic or LOTR-esque
BE CREATIVE, HAVE FUN AND KICK ASS! Can't wait to see your designs!
