How Pierre Olivier started their logo design journey
I'm a freelance software developer, maker of the Facebook Poll application. My consultancy is named Code Rubik : http://coderubik.com.
The Facebook poll application lets users create their own polls on Facebook. They create questions and invite their friends to answer the poll. You can try the application here : http://facebook.com/simple.polls
Tell us a bit about who you are and the people you reach
The target audience is Facebook users. The logo will show up when someone search for a poll application in the Facebook directory (http://www.facebook.com/search.php?…&type=apps) and will also appear every time a user publish the poll on is wall.
The logo needs to stand out since it will be competing for attention with other stories on people Facebook newsfeeds. It will therefore needs to draw attention but should be clean and of good taste.
It should also convey the idea of a "poll" or a "survey". You can look at the actual logo I bought from istockphotos to get an idea.
The logo will need to still look good when shrinked to a width of 75 pixels. It should be squared or a little higher than large.
The name should not be in the logo since it won't be readable when shrinked.
