How amagiinc started their logo design journey
I'm an aspiring entrepreneur and have just filed for my first patent. I work in Washington and am familiar with political campaigns and think I have a way for political yard signs to be more effective. My invention is a "sash" that can be placed across a yard sign (the ones you've probably seen stuck in yards or on the side of the highway during campaign season). Like a sash worn in a beauty pagent, but it'll be rigid, going diagonally across the left side of the sign, and it will convey an addition message. The sign usually has the candidate's name and office sought, the "sash" could have an issue message, or say vote today or thank you after the campaign.
I have attached a drawing from my patent application--I think a styleized version of this would make a good logo.
Tell us a bit about who you are and the people you reach
The target audience will be both the political candidates and the professional campaign managers. For smaller campaigns the politician will make most of his or her own purchasing decisions, but for the bigger ones it will be hired political campaign professionals who would purchase this product.
Because this is a new product, I think the logo needs to convey to the viewer both the name of the product and what the sign sash does. Since the web site is going to be SignSashes.com, it might make sense to include the website name in the logo.
Because this is politics, and the initial target audience will be American politicians, a red white and blue logo is probably best.
