We began InvisibleShoe.com after dozens of barefoot runners told us how much they loved our "barefoot" sandals. We had no idea that we had just gotten on the big wave of "minimalist running shoes." And we really had no idea that we'd be one of the best surfers on that wave!
As we begin a very exciting expansion, it's time to brand our product with more than a catchy name.
Your logo will not only be the face of our corporate identity, but could appear on the feet of all of our customers! You could be the next Nike Swoosh, or Crocs croc!
And as our product line grows, there will be additional opportunities for you.
Invisible Shoe wearers range from 4-84. They're men, women and children. They're adventurous, creative, fashion-forward and like to have fun.
Invisible Shoe wearers are runners, walkers, hikers, trekkers... and people who just like the freedom of being almost-barefoot (we like to say "better-than-barefoot").
Some are Olympic athletes who want a lightweight shoe for 1-100 mile runs. Others are kids who love making up crazy ways to tie their shoes. Some are hikers who just stick these in their back pocket for whatever could happen at the top of a mountain or while crossing raging rivers. And some are grandmothers who would be barefoot all the time if they could.
We want a logo that includes our name, Invisible Shoes, but has an image that could stand on its own.
In the same way that people hear "Invisible Shoes" and immediately ask, "What are those?!" we want the logo to inspire that kind of interest and attention.
In addition to needing this logo for our website and business cards and letterhead, we'll need a version that could work on the shoe itself: on the sole as part of the tread pattern, and possibly on some sort of upper. If it would make a good charm that you would wear on a necklace, too, then you know we have a winner. And if it turns into a good favicon, too... well, then I'm THRILLED.
There are already some obvious sole-looking logos for other companies, so we want to be original. Even if you create something with a sole image, it has to stand out from the pack:
You *may* want to consider some of these features in your design:
* bare foot
* the laces/straps for our sandal (take a look at the pictures from http://www.invibleshoe.com/make for ideas about the lace... especially when the sandal is UN-laced and comes out from the toe, to the outside ankle, around to the inside ankle, and then loose for tying)
* the initials i and s
* the shape of our sandal itself
You don't want to be too literal and just have your version of a bare foot, though.
If you want to make a character out of these elements, that could be interesting (I'm not saying you *should* do this, just that we're open to considering it).
Please do NOT use "better than barefoot" in your design.
While we're an outdoor company, we tend to avoid "outdoor colors" (browns). You can see the current flavor of things at http://www.InvisibleShoe.com
We'd like your designs in, well, every format you can think we'd need ;-)
Only use stock photos or clipart with approval (but you'll probably want to avoid them).
Thanks so much for your time. I look forward to seeing your ideas!
