Design a logo for a Vegan-Tech initiative

Temporary Site & Logo - https://www.materialinnovation.org/ NOTE - We like the idea of stitching or something that gives the feeling of materials in the design. We had a designer do some comps for us. Each had some interesting aspects, but none were quite right. We have attached those with comments on each about why they were not quite right. BRAND TONE - modern/innovative - high-tech - sustainable/ethical TARGET AUDIENCE: - Industries - Fashion (primary), Home Goods (furniture, comforters, etc), and Automotive - Corporate Departments - CSR, Sustainability, marketing, designers, R&D - Donors - animal welfare, sustainability, environment OVERVIEW The Material Innovation Initiative, a nonprofit organization, is a newly formed entity created to expedite the expansion of the vegan materials industry. From making leather out of mushrooms to growing silk in a lab, the vegan materials industry is no longer defined by the pleather of the 80s. These advancements are changing the materials industry. However, there are a variety of challenges on the path to mass consumer acceptance. We are here to break down those barriers. The Material Innovation Initiative will work with entrepreneurs, scientists, academics, corporates, industry experts and business leaders to make using animals as materials a way of the past. We exist to ensure sustainable, cruelty-free materials are the future.

No color requirements. We are open to ideas!

We had a designer do some comps for us. Each had some interesting aspects, but none were quite right. Design #1 - We like the way the icon forms and M and an I and I in a subtle way, but we'd like something more unique than just plain black blocks in the icon - maybe sticking or other design ideas to make it pop. Design #2 - We like the stitching idea and the font used on the name Material Innovation Initiative. But the stitching icon part is really broad/long. Design #3 - We like the strength of the MII icon with the broad font. This has a good feel, but nothing really unique. Maybe we could try the MII part in a few different stitching designs. We also like the font on the name. Design #4 - We love the design (beautiful), but it is too dainty. We need something stronger and more tech feeling. Design #5 - We like the circle (provides a nice separation between the icon and the name). Also, the stitching is cool, but this stitching is busy and gives a feeling of amateur stitching. Maybe something cleaner and more professional with no stitching between the letters. We don’t like the font on the name — too playful/cutesy feeling.
