The name "Stare Decisis" comes from the Latin proverb "Stare decisis
et non quieta movere", which loosely means: "That which stands decided
shall not be disturbed." This grounds the system of legal precedent in
common law countries, including the US, UK and Ireland.
The logo should say: "StareDecisis.com: Law Reports" or "Stare
Decisis: Law Reports."
The logo should preferably include an image of a judge with a wig.
This character may be lifelike, stylised or in silhouette. (It should
NOT include a gavel, as these are not used by judges in the UK or
Ireland.) However, we are open to the use of other images that might
make the site and brand seem distinctive.
The logo must be in a form that it can be adapted for a recognisable
Twitter avatar and a LinkedIn logo. It should also be adaptable for
letterheaded writing paper, compliments slips and business cards.
The logo may use up to three colours, which should preferably be
specified in relation to their Pantone numbering and it should be
recognisable at a distance.
