Attorney & Law
Project Description We are creating a logo that will be used as the cornerstone for the look and feel being developed for Immigrateful.com. This immigration assistance portal is a web-based application that will streamline and automate the process of filing and managing cases with the United States Department of Immigration and Nationalization services. This will include all the information, forms and advice needed to handle asylum, marriage, removal proceedings and a set of immigration-related forms and more. The site and tools within will necessarily be very secure and private. The nature of the information we will be capturing and storing requires a high level of security -- and the logo, site and application must instill confidence. Our goal is to set the user at ease and make a difficult and intimidating process feel easy. Users will enter the information required for their petition at their convenience and then our attorneys will review and edit these documents – all in the interest of a better process, more reliable outcomes and a better experience overall. Positioning Immigrateful is a stand-alone product website. Not a lawyer with a portal. That said, we will be driving traffic from the involved attorneys’ web sites and the Immigrateful site will link back to the practice’s other web sites for information about the attorney, the practice and any additional services they might need. Marketing Messaging Context As we develop marketing materials where this logo will appear, we will be pushing the following core messages: a. Safe, secure, trustworthy b. Hopeful c. Stress relieving d. Professional and solid yet cool and cutting edge e. We are licensed attorneys f. Affordable and practical Visual Approach Most of our audience is Russian speaking, new to the country and are likely to have a J1 work/travel visa. And when they are online, searching for a service to help them with their immigration needs, they will expect to see some traditional and relatively cliché icons like the Statue of Liberty, American Flag or an Eagle that makes it feel like this service is official and related to government work. And the use of American flag colors red white and blue is probably a positive as well. Our job is to make sure it feels fresh, current and modern. So while using the imagery mentioned above, our judging of the quality of your logo design will be more positive if the approach to showcasing the above imagery feels clean, fresh and contemporary. Old-fashioned fonts, straight up imagery and a dull feel is not going to fly. We want to bring credibility to the table – but without losing confidence that the organization is up on all the latest laws, regulations and approaches. The logo needs to be the anchor point for a site that represents a very capable organization. Our customers are literally putting their futures in our hands. Big stuff. Audience Description The logo must appeal to and connect with audiences that are: a. 18-25 b. Tech savvy c. Russian native/Russian speaking d. Only know basic English e. Likely to have J1 work/travel visa f. Seeking asylum as the fastest and cheapest path to citizenship
Logo types to explore
In order to give you context keep in mind the following directions for the website so you understand where we plan to head with that look and feel. Web Site Tone & Manner It may be helpful to know that we have two different directions in mind for the site that will follow the logo design: 1) Version 1, Information Driven This version will put information, simplicity and transaction first and foremost. This should look, feel and sound more like a fast, easy to use tool. “I’m here for a specific reason, I want to accomplish a task, do it efficiently and get out.” 2) Version 2, People Driven Our People Driven version will inject more portraits and lifestyle imagery in order to warm up the experience. We will feature images of people they can relate to and dial down the process-driven feel. Overall we will have a site that is clean, modern and warm. And we will do our best to speak in common simple and easy to understand language. We plan to keep the copy serious but casual. We want to infuse an element of quiet confident advocacy in the voice. Our personality should feel authentic, knowledgeable and friendly. Not clinical, academic or governmental. We speak as if in conversation with an experienced, friendly advocate who can get things done and is here to help.
