Simmons Leadership Consulting LLC
I am a "young professional" who struggled with the transition from learning (college) to leading (work). I started this company to help new leaders to quickly and effectively develop their personal leadership style based on their skills and interests, and to help them use that style to meet the new expectations of the business world.
I believe that we each have a leadership style that is uniquely us, and as familiar to us as our own name. We must simply be taught to recognize it through the experiences and achievements of our lives.
I want to create a business that is professional, but not stuffy; flexible, yet structured; premium, yet accessible. I want it to feel intuitive--as though my services were as integral to their success as their education and work training.
This is the first piece of branding for the company and will serve as the backbone for all future branded material.
My target audience would be best defined as anyone in transition from learning to leading--whether it's a new hire moving from college to corporate America, or a shift worker moving into management.
These are people who are suddenly playing a new game, with new rules and no handbook. The skills that got them there are no longer rewarded in this new world, and they are looking for someone to help them make sense of it all--someone to help them leverage the skills they have to be successful against unfamiliar and unwritten expectations. They want to connect to a sense of purpose, of fulfillment, and consider happiness to be part of their measurement of success.
I expect that the majority of my clients will be 20-35 years old and working in mid- to large-sized companies. I am located in the greater Cincinnati area and will seek to work with clients predominantly based in that region.
I am looking for a logo to represent both my company and myself.
I would love for the logo to consist of both typeface and an icon. I am open to the abbreviation "SLC" as part of the design as well.
I don't want any animals or personified characters of any kind. I'd like for it to be clean and simple, yet distinctive. No more than three colors in the entire logo.
It also needs to be scalable to different sizes and media (e.g., business cards, polo shirts, posters, etc.)
Some examples of logos I like are:
Amazon.com http://www.amazon.com/ - I love that the arrow goes from "A to Z" and is in the shape of a smile. Simple, but it says a lot.
Field Notes Brand http://fieldnotesbrand.com/ - They took two words, a basic black font, and a brown background and turned it into an instantly recognizable brand among their followers.
99designs.com's logo is also a great example of a logo that is simple, yet effective at bringing what they do to life.
Sony, BBC, YouTube, and Pandora are other logos that I think are great.
Please feel free to experiment with colors, but I don't want anything neon.
The file types I need are: .ai (CMYK), .eps, .jpg and layered .psd (RGB)
