I am starting a new company called BioMonkey. This is to be the umbrella company for my current YogaMonkey. The reason I am changing to BioMonkey from YogaMonkey is that yoga is now only a small part off what I do and contributes to my holistic health system, a mix of the following:
movement disciplines such as yoga, running, walking, kung-fu, circus and dancing, partner acrobatics/yoga, rollerblading;
mind disciplines such as yogic pranyama style breathing and transcendental meditation;
massage disciplines such as remedial massage, physiotherapy, acupuncture, thai massage, and tantric massage;
nutrition disciplines based on the following principles: a stringent and rational scientific approach; a holistic approach to achieving peak performance, health and happiness, including the aspects of Biomonkey mentioned above; and a ‘bio-hacker approach’ involving self-experiment, bio-technology and self-testing.
I am currently mostly focused on the bio-hacking nutrition part of my holistic health development, which means that I am trying out new foods and supplements daily.
The company that is most similar to what I want to achieve is Bulletproof.com, founded and publicly led by Dave Asprey. I am starting a year long Bulletproof Coach Training program from 2 July 2016 and plan to blog about my development through the Bulletproof program to kick start Biomonkey.
My target market is everyone, because everyone deserves to be healthy. In reality, I expect to appeal to people already engaged in slightly alternative forms of exercise such as yoga, kung-fu, running, dancing, circus and any kind of fitness who are often tired and injured and don’t know why. I also want to appeal to anyone wishing to perform better in life, particularly entrepreneurs and driven high flyers.
