Give this work-in-progress logo some sparkle and add some life to it! Give it a high-end designer’s touch. Concept and .ai file provided.
The concept was supplied by the winning entry of a previous contest submitted by ulahts, whom I would like to congratulate again. I have taken the concept further by filling in the hole in the middle of the logo. Here is a link to the filled-in version in black and white. It is an .ai file for your convenience.
The task of this contest is to do whatever you judge necessary to transform it into a world-class, eye-popping logo. While I am not looking for major changes to the concept, you can use coloration, lighting and shading effects, materials (ie: metallic or textured), size, distortion, skew or warping, changes to the font, or any other modification you see fit to elevate this logo to perfection. You can also play with the shapes, distort them, remove some the “tiles”, or join them.
I have already explored several styles and colorations. While many are appealing, my search still continues. My hope is that “the one” will emerge from the crowd. Here is a folder containing some of the ideas that have already been explored:
I like the colored cube variations, the extruded effect, and the shiny surface as well. You are welcome to further explore these ideas, or try something different altogether.
Multiple submissions are encouraged – though if you are submitting several iterations at once, it is requested that you put them on a single sheet to make them more manageable. Ultimately the winner will be determined by who submits the best looking and most appropriate logo for our company, so this contest can be won by a single excellent submission.
For those of you who can animate, I am also interested in the various interesting forms that this logo can take, and ways to transition between them. While the main prize will be awarded for the finished form of the logo, I will be offering runners-up prize of $100 for the designer who comes up with the coolest animation idea, and another $50 if they can deliver the actual animation.
- An idea derived from the original concept
- It could also be the original concept plus the missing touch
- A completely different and new concept
