I am a marketing professional with 12 years of experience in the technology field (specifically, software). For the past year I've focused on social media marketing and I am now in the process of launching a website focused on helping educate people/companies about social media.
The goal of the website is two-fold. First, to be a resource of information about social media. The site will have links to relevant articles, reviews of social media companies and tools, a blog, etc. Secondly, the site should position me as an experienced and knowledgeable practitioner of social media marketing. I do consulting work, so the site will be used to market my consulting services and knowledge of the space.
The site will leverage a variety of web 2.0 technologies (i.e. blogs, video players, RSS Feeds, widgets, podcasts, etc.) in helping to promote and share content.
As for the name "Community Butter," as many people know who have had roommates, frequently in the kitchen there were "community" items shared by all housemates - butter typically being one of them. So, "Community Butter" seemed an appropriate name for a website geared towards the sharing of information, content, insights, etc. While I want to have a fun, creative logo, I don't want a fraternity/college look and feel for the brand. I am looking for a balance between fun and professional.
