Art & Design
We are a newly registered charitable organization and we have defined our vision and mission as follows: Vision Enhancing access, appreciation and understanding of the arts Mission: • To preserve, curate, and exhibit the works of artist Earl Bailly, • To foster creative self-expression, across multiple artistic media by both able and disabled artists, • To provide structured learning activities on topics related to the arts, engaging in community partnerships with youth, artists, and professional organizations. The artist Earl Bailly lived and worked in the Town of Lunenburg, Nova Scotia from 1903 to 1977. Despite becoming a quadriplegic from polio at the age of two, he learned to paint using his mouth. He gained fame during his lifetime and his works are now in collections world wide. Our goal is to consolidate the works held in Lunenburg and to eventually have a permanent display location. The Foundation also wants to support young people with disabilities who might want to pursue the arts.
