We want a unity/unified logo. Stray away form primary colors, we want more muted colors, leaning towards dark colors. It's 'Red' Tavern, but we want more burgundy - darker reds. No imagery, simple is best. Logo should relay that this place is laid back, nothing stuffy. We will also need a font created around this. I will be using this for an awning, website, instagram, menus

Traumkuh
Client: TRAUMKUH Year: 2017 — TRAUMKUH is a swank new establishment set to open in three of the biggest cities in Germany, selling everything from burgers and poutine to beer and coffee. The first location will be home to a spectacular all-black interior which is the stimulus behind this project. The logo for TRAUMKUH is my personal study in the tender balance between handmade and upscale. The typography is my own handwriting and it carries the majority of the responsibility for achieving a modern yet distinct look for the brand. It is well-balanced beside an abstract icon of a cow’s head, a branding component which shares a similar freehand appearance as the wordmark but reveals more control because of its deliberate shape. Whether together or apart, these elements all work to reflect TRAUMKUH’s unique atmosphere. Dipped in black and white? Folks, we have a winner.

Client: Salzburger Haus Year: 2015 — A new café in Effingham County was in search of a logo that was both reflective of their proud German roots and a celebration of their heritage. I sought out to create a logo that felt special and intimate, making use of uneven typography to form a wordmark that looked naturally energetic.

Maja Mexican Grill
Maja Mexican Grill Brand Identity 2016 _______ Legend has it some surfers pray for good waves… others just pray for good food! In Huntington Beach, California, where surf culture reigns supreme, this client wanted a logo for his restaurant that was befitting of the protective community of talented men and women who call the ocean home. Derived from surf lingo, “Maja” meaning mother, is a term of affection often used within this community. The objective was to design a wordmark that represented the free spirit of the bad-asses who meet out in the water each day while also making sense for a professional restaurant establishment. The custom, hand-written design with unpredictable characters and wild movement was born out of the desire to appeal to local surfers as well as anyone else who may have a fiery hunger for authentic Mexican food! This handmade logo also features multiple variations including a version paying homage to the famed Huntington Beach lifeguard towers.
