Cap-It is a new, ethical, financial company. We arrange interest rate cap protection for borrowers having loans of £500K or more. Caps are the only suitable hedging product for companies and individuals wishing to guarantee against future interest rate increases, because caps allow borrowers to benefit from low rates without the downside risks associated with fixed rate products. Caps are premium products, akin to insurance. Borrowers pay an upfront premium and have nothing more to pay for the lifetime of the transaction, typically 5-7 years. If interest rates rise during that period above the specified cap rate, the cap buyer receives monthly payments compensating him for the increase. Caps are not tied to specific loans, so provide borrowers with full flexibility. Caps are actively traded between banks and major financial institutions, but are generally not available to smaller entities, because banks are unwilling to trade caps with smaller entities other than at prices significantly higher than the true market price. Cap-It bridges that gap, making caps available to smaller borrowers at close to interbank prices with the addition of a modest and fully transparent commission. Caps provide risk-free protection.
