Mike@BustedJK got their new logo design by running a design contest:
A Busted logo for Busted-JK

Enabling your Addiction (slogan optional)
Busted-JK is a small aftermarket parts eCommerce site for Jeeps, with a large focus on the Jeep JK (Current model Wranglers). We will carry everything from grab handles to suspensions to transfer cases. As well as a large involvement in the community, with hosted Trail Runs, 101 courses, Charity Events, etc. The Jeep audience tends to be pretty wide ranging from 16-70 with a decent mix between male and female. The majority of my customers will fit in that Male 20-45 category within the US. My audience is a group of folks who dump money into their rigs to literally drag them across rocks. We think dents are beauty marks, and mud is a badge of honor that ends up getting sun baked onto our Jeeps because we refuse to wash them. We show up to Car Shows and Meets after going through fresh mud holes and think we did a "good job" when we only bent a shock on the last trail run.
Logo types to explore
My audience is a group of folks who dump money into their rigs to literally drag them across rocks. We think dents are beauty marks, and mud is a badge of honor that ends up getting sun baked onto our Jeeps because we refuse to wash them. We show up to Car Shows and Meets after going through fresh mud holes and think we did a "good job" when we only bent a shock after a trail run. An "edgy" or "grunge" look will fit into the overall feel that I want. The logo will mainly be used as a banner on the website, which is still being populated/tweaked. One of the files uploaded is up there now, used more of a place holder than anything (Busted-JK.com). I will definitely have more work for the winning designer down the road, with a badge style logo for hats/shirts, business cards, etc. Right now the big focus is to get a banner style logo to be used on the site as well as windshield banners to be sold/given out. Below are some ideas I was toying with. The font Style I really like, the sketch was just something that popped into my head, nothing concrete. If you have any additional questions, please feel free to reach out, thanks!

My experience of working with Leijan has been excellent — he was very creative in the design options he presented to me, very prompt and clear in his communications with me, and his deliverables were meticulously prepared. I recommend him wholeheartedly.
Along the way, they met lots of talented designers…
