(FYI to designers: The actual website for http://www.velopart.com is under construction.)
Velopart's target market is professional men and women, age twenty-five to sixty-five, who participate in cycling for fitness or competition on regular basis. Many will be members of bike clubs and ride 4 or more hours a week. Generally, they are salaried employees with good disposable income. Most are busy with work, family, and other obligations. They are comfortable with buying online. Cycling is a primary hobby. The majority own browser based cell phones. As a safety precaution, most carry these phones in their pockets while cycling.
Many cycling clubs gather and ride in packs. These 'club rides' create impressionable moments with cyclists following each other for long periods of time. We envision sponsoring bike clubs and racing clubs by applying our logo to the back jersey pocket of their uniforms ("kits"). The logo would create the impression that whatever cycling need they have is no further than the phone in their pocket, i.e. we are their bike store in their pocket.
To fit on the pocket, the logo needs to be no more than 4.5 inches (11.4 cm) tall and 3.5 inches (9 cm) wide. Keep in mind most cyclist already carry a phone in their back jersey pocket.
The logo should look appropriate on a mobile browser. This could be a modified or scaled down version of the "pocket logo".
A color scheme and photograph of a sample cycling jersey are attached.
Please be creative. At this point nothing is off the table. I promise to provide feedback as quickly as possible allowing you to develop your idea in stages and eliminating lesser ideas quickly before too much time is spent on them.
I'm sure I have forgotten something. Please let me know of any questions.
Lastly, Thank you for your interest and your participation.
