I am seeking a talented designer that would be able to interpret both the artistic and psychological concepts behind my business' brand name PHOTOGLYPTOS. This word is a compound word I coined based on two Greek words PHOTO which means light and GLYPTOS which means carving, hence carving with light.
I am a photographer specializing in fine art portraiture. My style could be described as classic, painterly, soul revealing, intimate, personal, etc. I would like to have a logo that would convey the artistic and emotional fine art traits that sets my portrait photography apart from today's commercial or trending styles.
Some suggestions: A facial trait of a classic female facial expression (sculpture, painting, photograph or drawing carved out of light and shadows (prefer profile look - facing right but open to suggestions). Ornate elements should be able to reproduce well at small or reduced sizes.
Please visit my website http://www.photoglyptos.com for a sample of my work. You could also read my About page.
PLEASE DO PAY SPECIAL ATTENTION TO THIS SECTION. THIS IS THE KEY TO PRODUCE A WINNING DESIGN.
The following are must have characteristics:
1- Central image must protrude or give the impression that is embossed or carved out. This is the main theme of the name Photoglyptos = sculpting/carving with light.
2-Logo should be original and should not look as a modified stock clip art or vector graphic.
3-Main image should be encased or surrounded by a subtle adornment complementary to the central idea. Should not compete with main logo image.
4-Logo must consist of both text and graphics.
5-Logo should have a classic / sophisticated fine art feeling without angular or sharp/modern edges.
6-Overall design should reproduce well when scaled down.
In terms of the main element of the logo which is the face, I am looking for an original design that I could claim as unique. I do not favor commercial stock clip art designs or vector graphics. I am looking for a face that would have 3D dimensionality in which light and shadows defines the image. The hair and neck should not occupy greater space than the face. I also favor a profile view looking towards the right than a facing forward view. In terms of the facial expression, I prefer a stoic, pensive look that would show character rather than a "snobbish" look would show attitude.
Look forward to see your great work.
Thank you !
