Steinster needed a new logo design and created a contest on 99designs.
A winner was selected from 721 designs submitted by 120 freelance designers.
AdUpon
AdUpon is an Ad Network for Classified Ads (An Ad Network is a company that places ads on many web sites. A web publisher puts a small bit of code on their web site and ads start showing on their site)
We are a new company that has not had any previous creative or branding.
Although it is not required to have the A and U of AdUpon be capitalized, the creative design should suggest that the name of the company is pronounced “Ad Upon” … we do not want it pronounced “A Dupon” or “Adup On”…
The target audience is advertisers, web publishers as well as consumers. The logo should have a fun feel that is appealing to these audiences.
We expect the service to be locally oriented, easy and inexpensive. The service will allow anyone to post a classified ad that can run on the ad network. Individuals can post single ads, companies can post many ads.
The service should have a look that has been common to many web 2.0 companies.
Although not required, preference will be given to a design that incorporates a logo together with an identifiable character or symbol. For example Digg (http://www.digg.com) has a robot; Twitter (http://www.twitter.com) has a bird… We would like something too!
Since there are many different types of classified ads, we want to be careful that the logo does not suggest a certain type of product. For instance the ads that could run on the ad network could be used autos, job openings, real estate, tickets, events, travel offers, deals and coupons.
We expect the service to be locally oriented, easy and inexpensive. The service will allow anyone to post a classified ad that can run on the ad network. Individuals can post single ads, companies can post many ads.
We would also like to have a miniature version of our logo that can fit within a 95x20 pixel image. (We realize this is tough... It is OK if this tiny logo is a little different)
It will be necessary to receive the Logo in a variety of sizes. The logo should be usable on a web site, stationary and business cards.
We require the final creative to be delivered in such that we can make modifications in the future and the creative can be resized without problems. We reserve the right to modify the creative and re-use it for additional purposes. If any graphic elements or fonts were used that were created by a third party and not designed by the artist, we would like to be notified in prior to the completion of the contest with instructions on how to get the proper licensing of the creative elements. Preference will be given to entries where that are 100% original without the use of external creative assets.
