Joey: creating an emotional impression on viewers
#ProjectPreview Come up with an understanding of the brand character (logo), then we develop the color and typography style. Typography is the shape or styling of the text you use in your branding. There are many different types of fonts and each one can have a different effect on the viewer, including different degrees of legibility. Color is used to identify a brand through a scheme of very specific hues, shades, and tints. When used correctly, colors can generate some of the most powerful emotional responses in the viewer. Though the color palette often begins with the logo, these colors should be repurposed for all brand materials. Keep in mind that the absence of color, such as black and white, is a perfectly valid color choice as well.

PODIUM X is an application for student-athletes at universities to help them prepare for careers. The requirements for the logo were that it should have an icon based on the letter X, which should work both in color and in gray so that it does not clash with the different colors of the universities. At the same time, the icon should be strong enough to work separately from the lettering. Simple, powerful, and straight to the point. With its strong angles, the logo fits well with the sporting ambition and will to win. The lower arch subliminally reminds of a hill (pedestal, elevation, reaching of goals). Supported by the upper arc and the angles on the left and right, the logo appears focused and targeted. A logo that captures the spirit of sports and combines it with the professionalism of a career platform.

This valued client is a travel content creator. He creates travel videos for the largest news company in New Zealand. The videos have got around 50 million views. Now he takes the next step and publishes his extraordinary videos under the new brand escape.video. This minimalist design starts with the well-known play symbol but takes it in a new direction. The standard play icon is closed: it starts where it ends. Not so this symbol: it starts at a point and develops forward so that the line ends further forward. The symbol breaks up the convention and inherits the clear impression of moving forward. This fits perfectly with the brand attributes: disruptive, modern, viral.
