Design Ludwig Van's new landing page — the latest in classical music and opera news

Ludwig Van is a local arts and culture news website. We are currently in the process of launching a new newsletter and need a new landing page optimized for email sign-ups. We would like the landing page to do only one thing: get visitors to sign up for our free newsletter. Our target audience is 55% women // 45% men, age 24-55, who identify as curious, risk-takers, and hold progressive values. Our content covers classical music and opera news, ballet, film and musical theatre.

Typography: We tend to have a simple, bold aesthetic with mostly black and white. Our goal is to be easy to read with an understated design. Our typefaces include Knockout 91 and 53 (H1 Titles and H2+ subtitles), and Roboto (for body text). Besides basic black and white, we use red (#cf433b) as our single main accent colour for buttons and link text. We are looking for design that allows photos and CTAs “pop” off the screen, and direct attention exactly where we want it.

Our brand uses Ludwig van Beethoven as our mascot. We see classical music as cool and fun and reject that classical music is old and boring. Our brand aesthetic should reflect this.
