We are putting out a piece to people who own homes in Cambridge, Massachusetts AND Cape Cod, Massachusetts. The image we want is one from Cambridge to the Cape, as if the world between the two is non-existent. "Just get me to Cape Cod!"
But Cambridge is a very specific, wry, intellectual, bohemian, multicultural audience, so the illustration needs to match that. It needs to be "New Yorker Magazine Cover" and not "Honky Tonk Postcard". Primary use will be on a 9x6 postcard, so the image should fit these dimensions, but happy to look at vertical and horizontal interpretations.
Similar to the "How NY sees the world" New Yorker cover but with the far-ground as important as the foreground and only the middle 'insignificant', to have a sketch of Cambridge with iconic places like Harvard, Harvard Square, MIT, Massachusetts Avenue, Memorial Drive, Charles River. Then, from the Charles River all the way to the Cape Cod Canal and Sagamore Bridge, just a little blip for boston, maybe a plymouth plantation blip, etc. but then it's the bridge! and Cape Cod! So Cape Cod is big, and there are iconic things like, the Woods Hole Ferry, Craigville Beach, Chatham Band Concert, Provincetown Monument, Whale Watching, Eating Lobster.
