As usual, Carlos Afonso was brilliant. Fast, great communication and quality work!
Great design aesthetic and very responsive with design iterations. The icons always look like a true set!

Flex is an iOS app for logging gym workouts. Users can create workout routines, log them, and view graphs and statistics about their performances.
The types of workouts that are logged in Flex are predominantly weights based as opposed to cardio (although it does support adding cardio based exercises) and it's mainly targeted towards bodybuilders and people who engage mostly in weights based training such as barbell and dumbbell exercises.
What inspires you and how do you envision the design for your business?
I am in need of a clean and modern iOS app icon. The icon needs to be relevant either to the name or to the concept of the app (i.e. related to weight training).
Although the name of the app is Flex I would like to avoid any iconography related to flexed body parts as I feel this cannot be achieved without a clip art feel (if you feel it can be then by all means provide a design). For this reason I would like to avoid all silhouettes of flexed body parts and or bodybuilder related iconography.
My gut feel for what would make the best icon would be one of the following:
- Some clever minimalistic treatment of the letter F
- Weightlifting related iconography of some sort (i.e. dumbbell)
- Some abstract collection of basic shapes that resembles the notion of flexing
Please find attached examples of icons that I like. I have chosen these icons as I feel they all contain a a style of design that really appeals to me.
In terms of colours I am completely open to the colours that are used in the designs provided. I would like designers to provide me with what they feel are appropriate colours given the nature of the app.
