GNUCITIZEN got their new icon or button by running a design contest:
application icon or button design for Websecurify
Check out GNUCITIZEN's Icon or button contest…
Websecurify is a web application security solutions company. Our flagship product is an automated web application security scanning/testing tool.
What's your vision?
We need someone to design our application icon. It should fit into our current brand (see http://www.websecurify.com). We are looking for something simple but also something that stands out. The key is simplicity. Here is a list of some of the key features we are looking for: * identification with our brand - color, style, etc. see our website for details * a symbol which stands out - at the moment we use the abbreviation WS but we are looking for something else which will be unique for our brand/organization. * simplicity - we are huge believers in simplicity and simple unobtrusive design. The rest is up to you. Please find our current icon attached. !!! N.B: padlocks, locks, cloud symbols will not be accepted.
The following technical information may help you out during the design process. Colors: #2D2D38, #E86E48, #EDEDED. Font: Old Republic. I want to clarify again that we want to come up with a concept icon which is not quite the same of what we currently have. At the moment we just use the letters WS. We need an icon with a conceptional symbol to represent what we do, i.e. web application security solutions.
Every design category has flexible pricing for all budgets. Icon or button starts at $269.
Full copyright with production-ready files for digital and/or print.
It all began with a design brief.

Designers across the globe delivered design magic.
GNUCITIZEN collaborated with designers to refine their ideas
When design entries come in, you can rate them so designers know what you’re looking for in your logo design.
99designs has great collaboration tools so you can pinpoint and capture your ideas
And then… they selected a winner!
Along the way, they met lots of talented designers…
We think contests are a super fun way to get design.
