Haunted by the horrors of war and a turbulent past, Connor is torn between ending his life before the inevitable and reaching the survivors of a remote Alaskan civilian commuter plane crash deep in the mountains – a rescue that perhaps only his decades of skills can pull off. The plane’s captain, Scott Sanders, takes charge after the crash, in spite of his injuries and the realization that his dream of flying for a major airline is destroyed. Passenger Susan Douglas, a retired school teacher, assists him while barely holding herself together. Her husband was killed in a fiery plane crash years before. Aided by an untested protégée, Al Thompson, and a mysterious young girl, Lisa, found at the crash site, Connor nevertheless finds himself in a constant battle against internal demons. Rescuing the survivors becomes a means of redemption. In his desperate gamble to achieve the near impossible set against the harsh beauty of wild Alaska, Connor’s underlying intentions are unknown, even to himself, until the very end. Amid the turmoil of an approaching storm and almost certain failure, his flying skills and drive for personal redemption are the only hope remaining for the crash survivors.
This will be a closed contest, but judging may take an additional week (staff holidays) Please be patient
