The Moorfoot Tales: Lost Myths from Scotland
Stephen McCabe is a storyteller, tarot reader and Zen Buddhist. The Moorfoot Tales is his first book. Stephen works as an eco-therapist and he incorporates his love of myth and folklore into his work.
Moorfoot is a mysterious rural area of the Scottish Lowlands. Unknown to many, for centuries it has kept its myths, legends and folklore to itself. But secrets are lurking within the ancient ruins and flowing waters of Moorfoot, and finally, someone is telling them.
Storytellers. People who are interested in Scottish history. People who love mythology and folktales. Adults of all genders.
Book cover type
I would like something that brings to mind an ancient book of fairy tales. Perhaps the cover itself could look like a very old, eccentric book of tales, or perhaps instead, an image of a book like this could be incorporated into the cover image? Nature is a very important element to this book and so some green details and images capturing natural growth (leaves? vine?) feel important. I have attached a few images from the book's illustrator: it would be great if one (or both, whatever works best for you) of these could somehow be incorporated into the cover; these images don't have to be the focus of the cover though and I am open to not including these if you have an idea that they clash with. A few random ideas are: - an old vintage book in a ditch or a hidden place, covered with vine leaves - an old rusty lock/key on the cover of the book - something to suggest lost stories that have been recovered - please be creative though, these are just random ideas!

Stephen's design was instantly 'the one' from a sea of (already wonderful) submissions. He seemed to really understand my idea. To work with, he was very courteous and went the extra mile. It was a pleasure to work with him. Highly recommend!
Along the way, they met lots of talented designers…
We think contests are a super fun way to get design.
