Kory Umlauf is a Christian Father, Author, Artist, Foodservice Consultant and Outdoor Adventurer. His creative talents and tenacious desire for knowledge have taken him on many adventures through life. From Executive Chef of Fine Dining Restaurants to a Hospitality Industry National Distribution Advisor which led to a travelling tenure as a Hospitality Consultant to include successful work for a Safari company sending him on incredible adventures across Kenya, swimming with Sharks in Southern California and hiking the Grand Canyon. Growing up and living in the beautiful Ozarks trekking its many clear streams, deep lakes and cool caverns he always pursues peaceful prayer while wandering and writing in the wilderness!

Corazon is Spanish for Heart. One of the boys is fatherless and upon learning that his mother needs a new heart he hears about a treasure left in the Ozarks by Spanish explorer Hernando DeSoto. The treasure has been told to have riches beyond your wildest dreams and to bring immortality against death. He convinces his best buddies from his baseball team to go on an adventure and search for the treasure where they soon discover stories about Indians and the famous Yocum Silver Dollars that came from the old Spanish mine. The meet many mentors along the trail and have wild adventures with one of their girlfriends family that include rides on jet skis, boats, a flying amphibious microlight plane. Their adventure concludes with a canoe excursion down the James River. In the end they climb a bluff and find a Gutenberg bible hidden in a cave when a selfish enemy from their school tries to steal it. When the news cameras follow the sheriff to the incident a rich philanthropist hears about their discovery and shows up to buy the bible imparting final wisdom about true riches and life everlasting as taught in the Bible’s gospel story.

The target audience was originally young adults, but the editing process has found older adults greatly enjoyed reading the book!

Hardback

Possibly a map of Table Rock Lake and James river in Taney and Stone Counties of Missouri in the U.S. that has been cleaned up so it’s simply and outline with no land topography but with an old rnown paper background. Then possibly in handwritten style words at the general areas, Breadtray Mountain (which is Lampe Mo) with a line to Spanish Silver Cave (Reeds Spring), and Jamestown (Galena) with a line to Marble Cave (Silver Dollar City). The lines make a cross. Then perhaps a treasure box somewhere on the page. I also want a compass rose! *I have included a pic of my beginers attempt at a MS Pub design as possible inspiration for any other ideas you may have. However, you are the professional so I am very excited and open about your personal creative ideas for the cover. Also is a pic of a bluff and canoe that is part of the story. I also like this treasure map invitation I found online and a pic of my favorite book cover called Captured by Grace by Jeremiah if that helps at all.
