The design is amazing. Andrei is very easy to work with. He gets your ideas and turns them into something even better than what you imagined.

Great work as always!
Another home-run cover from Mmm.Kkk! With each consecutive addition to this series, she brings the vision for these books to life! This one has been my favorite so far and her eye for landscape, position, color, and all the other elements continues to be an utter treasure! Cannot recommend her services enough!

I'm an author and photographer, that publish a series of books that follow a trail of historic churches and cemeteries. My target audience are those who love gothic historical work. Especially cemeteries. Many are females.
What inspires you and how do you envision the design for your business?
My book is part of a continuing series on Louisiana's Sacred Places that follows a poetic trail of historic churches and cemeteries. The title of the book is Spirits of the Bayou: Sanctuaries, Cemeteries and Hauntings. It is a soft cover, 6X9 inches, 256 pages long with 130 photos and 26 chapters. It's a cross between a travel guide and a coffee table book. The book follows a trail of history and mystery from New Orleans across the coastal bayou towns. There are 9 chapters on churches and synagogues, 12 chapters on cemeteries and most have very gothic scenes with above-ground tombs set inside trees with Spanish moss hanging from the branches. Then three chapters on hauntings along the bayous including the Cajun Werewolf, the Honey Island Swamp Monster, and the ghost of Jean Lafitte. One chapter goes into the symbiotic relationship between trees and people, along with new age burial practices. There's also the metaphysical force of butterflies and dragonflies and their connection to the afterlife. I want the cover to have a gothic bayou scene to attract my cemetery fans, but also need a chapel in there as well. Definitely want fog and the cover to extend from front to back. It can be black & white or color, surprise me, give me something that will really catch someone's eye, but I don't want it to look like a horror fictional book either. Something artistic, something beautiful, and most of all something haunting. I have many photos I can provide or you can use stock photos. But I definitely want a specific chapel to be used. And this will be an ongoing series with a different region of the state every year. So opportunity for future designs.
You can take a look at my photo galleries of my other books on my website, http://www.deborahburst.com. And as you can see from the last church and cemetery book, I am taking a completely different direction. I want the cover to be a reflection of the artistry inside the book, but a more gothic feel that involves the natural beauty of our bayous. I can't have the church sign show on the cover. You can use a faded partial of the church as well. Photos below are mine and copyrighted but you are welcome to use whatever stock photos you feel would be a better fit, this is an idea of what I had in mind.
