I was born in Northern Rhodesia, now Zambia, in 1955. Grew up in Durban and rural Camperdown, learning engineering skills from my father. After compulsory service in the South African army, I went into business before moving to Yorkshire, England, where my successful firm Hydraulic Pumps UK Ltd is based. I enjoy good company, fast vehicles and lengthy sailing adventures around the world. My yacht, Zingara, is kept in Gibraltar, close to my home near Malaga, Spain. I has been married three times, twice to the same woman, and have two grown-up daughters. Jabula! is my first book
