Letters to Dogwood
Tanya is an avid reader of romance in every genre, though her heart lies in Historical Romance. She lives her own real-life romance married to her high school sweetheart, who happens to be her favorite hero type–a good old country boy. They live in Texas on a little homestead with their two sons and many animals. She majors in English and minors in Creative Writing, and when she’s not writing, she’s spending time with her family, reading, or daydreaming about writing.
Lucy runs from her mistakes to return to her comfortable life in Dogwood, Texas, but obstacles await at every turn for a single young woman traveling alone in the 1880s. Ben meets her on the train as a reluctant rescuer, and sparks fly and feelings grow during their travels. The past, however, has an unfortunate way of reappearing, and they both must learn what it takes to fight for redemption: together.
Women between 18-40 who love steamy historical romances on the longer side, especially if they like Texas and cowboys.
Book cover type
Font Style: I love the elegant, eye-catching font that curls, for both the title and the author name. "Letters to" can be more elegant, and "Dogwood" can be more bold. Mood: This is a historical romance, it should not feel contemporary, but it doesn't need to be super retro in sepia tones or anything. It's in the 1880s Texas. Imagery: There needs to be Dogwood flowers incorporated. Optional are letters or old-fashioned mail, a brunette woman in an 1880 casual dress, a black-haired cowboy embracing a brunette woman, horses on a ranch, an old-fashioned hotel. I'm fluid, if it's elegant and fits the historical romance description, I'll be happy with it. The absolute must-have is the Dogwood flowers, which I would love to trail from the front of the paperback cover to wrap around the back, please.
What to avoid
Avoid contemporary women, just the heroine with no details, very bright flashy colors everywhere, modern feels.
