Creative Brief - eBook Cover Cover Text: [title] Prime [author] Windsor Harries Summary: - Create a cover for a speculative fiction (science fiction) ebook. - Simple, clean, modern design. - No illustrations, please. - Possible feelings the cover could prompt: tension (revolution, insurgency, rebellion), ruin (fallen civilization), or pairs (chromosomes, genetics). - Needs to look clear and be legible as a thumbnail. Needs to stand out on a page of competing thumbnails. - Final dimensions: 4500 pixels tall x 2820 pixels wide. Cover only (no dustjacket, back cover, etc.) - Thumbnail should look clear and be impactful both in colour and greyscale (for different Kindle readers). - This is a first novel, so the book title should be much larger than the author's name. Summary of book: The story takes place on another planet, with humanoid aliens being held in submission for many generations by a much more aggressive alien race. Throughout the generations, the humanoids have been selectively breeding an individual in secret who would hold the power to defeat their oppressors. All that planning has come together, finally, into one individual with the correct genetic patterns - the Prime. But his power will only emerge when he hits maturity, so he needs to stay safe until then, and prepare.
As a general guide, I like the look and feel of the "Wool" covers (series by Hugh Howey). They are clear, simple and visually grabbing. However, that's just an overall guide - I don't want a clone of them. Thanks!
