Dr. Melanie-Marie Haywood is a Higher Education professional who has spent her career addressing the issue of anti-racism and inequity in Higher Education. This book is the product of years of study, observations, and mentorship with students of Colour in Universities across the world. She writes to give students practical tools to enable a more equitable HE experience, and give them agency and authority for success.

This book is a love letter to students of Colour in UK higher education. It provides insight into various elements of what a student will need for success on their university journey, but with a view to affirm their right to be successful. This book is for HE students of Colour, but also all aspiring and current HE students who want to get started on their university journey a little bit ‘ahead of the game’.
