Jerome Michael McLaughlin
My name is Jerome Michael McLaughlin. I am an entrepreneur, wanderer, and formally trained visual artist. For the past 35 years, I have zig-zagged the globe seeking answers to the conundrum of human existence - the very meaning of being. Along my own journey of solace and self-discovery, I have collected random pieces to the enigmatic puzzle of consciousness, and the age-old questions of salvation refitted and reformulated into a workable approach to life – a life lived with purpose.
ONE is about the rediscovery, reformation, and re-imagination of You – the self, individual and indivisible.
• Ages 35-65. • Educated (Bachelors or Master degree). • Cerebral. • Introspective. • Independent. • Life experienced. • City-dweller (or in the first ring of suburbia). • Eternally curious. • Inquirer. • Avid reader. • Podcast listener. • Documentary watcher. • Music lover. • Traveler. • Thinker (vs. Feeler). • Quality over quantity.
Book cover type
• Clean. • Bold typeface / font. • “ONE” should be prominent and easily read. • Imagery or icon (if any) should speak of the self, transformation, the mind, change, inward journey, individualism, introspection, well-being, powerful. • Cover should be visually engaging without being overtly specific. • Palette: I am a fan of white, black, gray, orange and light blue but I am open to other possibilities. • (I hope that you will take a few minutes to read the cover design analysis provided to help steer you in the right direction.)
What to avoid
I fear being lumped together with spiritual quick-fix self-help books or works of new-age quackery painfully simple and merely a re-hashing of the obvious. It is not a guidebook toward spiritual enlightenment or a 12-step plan to fix what is broken in one’s life. It is a read of quiet reflection and introspection that perhaps might stir one to reconnect with themselves spiritually and take action toward fulfilling their true self.
Every design category has flexible pricing for all budgets. Book cover starts at $399.

We had a small add-on project to a book design and libzyyy took it on despite a heavy workload. And she nailed it. Always professional, fast, and communicative, I will definitely work with her again.
Along the way, they met lots of talented designers…
We think contests are a super fun way to get design.
