LIFE AFTER EXIT
Jamie is a serial entrepreneur having started, built and sold two significant businesses to date and owns two more that are still in the growth stage. When not building businesses he can be found completing significant adventures like Sailing the Atlantic, Trekking in the Himalayas or Paragliding 15,000ft above sea level in the Alps.
There's an abundance of advice published about how to start a business, how to scale one and of course, how to exit one, but there's almost no advice or help for those who've been there, done it, exited and now find themselves lost and without a purpose. This book changes that. I take the lessons I have learnt from a number of successful business exits and a life of adventure and I interview 12 other entrepreneurs that have, or are planning to exit their business and share the lessons learnt and tips on how to prevent making the mistakes that X% of us entrepreneurs make when selling our business. Becoming rich and irrelevant. Published research shows that finding your purpose is linked to living longer. Researchers surveyed nearly 7,000 adults on the relationship between mortality and finding their purpose. Those without a strong sense of meaning in their lives were more than twice as likely to die prematurely as those who had figured out their purpose. These results were universal when controlled for income, race, gender and education. Researchers concluded that finding your purpose helps you live longer. It’s also essential for happiness and fulfilment so I want to make sure that when you lose your purpose, after selling your busuiness you are ready for life's next chaallenges and a healthy long life.
