This is the second job I've done with Alexandre, "Portugal." This time I didn't do the contest--I knew I wanted Alexandre to do my second cover. He did not disappoint--it is exactly what I asked for and once again he used his expertise and creative eye to make things better than my original request. I also really love how it matches the first cover in a color/font scheme so it looks really professional. This was my first experience asking someone directly to do work and Alexandre was fast, professional, and a delight to work with. I can't recommend his services enough. He is really good at designing book covers!
Working with Venanzio has been a great experience. He is solid and competent in his delivery and quick to respond to questions and requests. His design stood out from all the others in how different it was from the majority. He was the only one that took the back cover design one step further and integrated our personal symbol into it as well as the front.
Our topic is hope and I believe the use of graphics and light truly inspires hope in people who look at the cover.
I was extremely pleased with cy1's work on my project. He responded very quickly to requested changes and was very willing to attend to the details. I found him to be extremely creative in developing a very unique design. He communicated very clearly, was very personable, and put in extra effort. I plan to continue working with him, and I would highly recommend him.

Book cover for client's book: "Now Hear This" a memoir of his experiences in WW2, as a naval airman, test pilot, as a candidate for the US astronaut program and he also worked for the CIA. The anecdotes comprise chapters from different parts of his life. I would like to see different ideas, perhaps highlighting the different phases in his life, but do not want the cover to be simply vignettes of the different photos. I want the cover to convey what the book is about of course, but moreover, give the impression of a very competent man, who has served his country well, but also has been successful as a business and family man. I will include a zip file with some source material and the rough mss. Also some covers that I like the look and feel of.
Here is the author's synopsis:
NOW HEAR THIS is a collection of “sea-stories” documenting major events in the author’s 20 years service in the U.S. Navy, starting as a newly commissioned Ensign in 1942. Most chapters cover events in World War II. This is followed by the Korean War, where the author was pilot of a photo crew overflying China. In 1954 orders to Test Pilot School upset his family’s plans and changed his life. For six years he was a Navy Test Pilot, during which time he established two transcontinental speed records. In 1959 he was one of 32 candidates tested for Project Mercury, Americas first astronaut program. In 1962 he was selected for Captain, but retired to work for the CIA. This experience provided the background for his first two published books, TOP SECRET FLIGHT and TANGO TRAJECTORY.
