Kyle L. Balmer
Kyle L. Balmer, a Chicago native turned gypsy is a budding new author who has just forayed into the YA genre whilst maintaining his edge from previous novels. His debut novella, “Murder Playlist” is Saturn Award winner for “Best New Horror: Short Story” and he hopes to bring his knack for edge-of-your-seat storytelling into books geared for younger readers.
A marine turns dog musher in this “Die Hard” meets “Togo” tale that flips the traditional Christmas story on its head. This is not your father’s dog tale.
Young adults aged 13-17 and animal lovers of any age
Other color requirements
I want the same color scheme in the first file I included. The black and white photos are just examples.
The cover will be a scene out of the book: A dog musher, along with twelve Alaska malamute(similar to huskies, only bigger, will be FLYING through the air, above the trees with the support of thirty six drones under the dogs bodies and the dog driver the musher stands on. Think, Santa and his reindeers only with a musher in a puffy red jacket and some ice dogs I want to be cartoonish but with some edge and a comic book feel. The first photo I’ve attached is what I want to emulate. While this is for young adults, it has a mature and gritty atmosphere. It’s about a marine who becomes a dog musher so dial back “cuteness” 😏
What to avoid
Cuteness should be dialed back. . A little. It’s all up you :-) I still very much want a comic book feel
It all began with a design brief.
A quick, interactive guide helped them understand their design style and captured exactly what they needed in their book cover.
Designers across the globe delivered design magic.
KyleBalmer collaborated with designers to refine their ideas
When design entries come in, you can rate them so designers know what you’re looking for in your logo design.
99designs has great collaboration tools so you can pinpoint and capture your ideas
And then… they selected a winner!
Along the way, they met lots of talented designers…
We think contests are a super fun way to get design.
