Being>(Is Greater Than) Doing: How to Awaken Your Passion, Embrace Your Pain, Own Your Power and Establish Your Principles
Ryan Lui lives to become more of his best self so that he can give his best to the world. He loves to write, coach, and speak on other-centered self-development. He longs to see people discover and become their true self and live for something greater than themselves. He believes that life can be better, dreams are good, relationships are everything and finding our calling in the world is integral to changing it.
Ryan was born and raised in Vancouver B.C. and went to all the same schools his mom did from kindergarten to university. He received his undergrad from the UBC Sauder School of Business and his masters from Regent College.
Ryan is passionate about the dynamics between cultures, ethical fashion, and health & fitness. He hopes that Nsync would go on a reunion tour, that looking good would do good in the world and that every orphan would be fostered or adopted into a family that loves them.

Book cover type
I like the image in the back and the subtle gradient of coor
i like the modern font and variety of colors
I love the bold font title and the colors in the back
I like the shadowing of the white
I like the large title and the gradient coloring within it
I like how there's a picture in the back. Good font and boldening of key words
i like the colors
I really like the paintbrush look!
I like how the colors change but are also not solid.
I like the pain brush look
i like the bits of white that I think represent "dream"
just the one cover with the author in the background that I like
What colors do you want to see in your design?
Other color requirements
I would prefer a variety of colors with multiple shades/gradients.
The title is "Being > (Is Greater Than) Doing." Play around with the positioning and coloring of the ">" and "is greater than". The parentheses is not necessary but I would like to have the > sign somehow.
I use Raleway for my font on my website. I would like a font for my title that is bold and that can be seen in the the smallest thumbnail on amazon.
I am a fan of color and would like to see all colors with a white backdrop. I want the colors and design to express individuality and uniqueness. I would like to see geometric shapes if possible as long as it doesn’t make the cover look too “busy.” I prefer bolder colors rather than pastels, but if you think pastels would look and fit the message better, go for it. Take a look at Bob Goff's "Everybody, Always."
At the same time, I could be open to a minimalist/sophisticated look with minimal color. Maybe using gold or silver? I'm looking for something that really pop and express sophistication and simplicity.
What to avoid
Don't use any warm colors (red, yellow, orange, etc) and browns.
Don't use stock images of nature or scenes or have any pictures that look cheesy. Certain stock images, if used well could be good...
