We have built a very simple, advertising-revenue driven, home valuation website called HomeVal.net. We are passionate about making it as painless as possible for non-technical users to value their homes for free.
Home owners thinking about selling their homes or who are curious about their home's value. Also anyone considering buying a home that would like a valuation.
We require 2 ads, one of size 300x250 pixels, and the other of size 728x90 pixels.
They should be no more than 50 kilobytes when exported in png, gif, or jpeg format. THIS IS A STRICT REQUIREMENT, THE ADS ARE USELESS TO US IF THEY ARE LARGER THAN 50K.
Note that research has shown that animated ads tend to get more clicks, so please feel free to animate your ad as an animated gif, this may increase your chances of winning, but be sure to keep the file size below 50k, and the ad MUST stop animating after 30 seconds.
Remember, our goal is to get people to click on the ad, and value their house using our website, so it MUST have some kind of clear call to action to click, and it must clearly articulate why they would want to click (its no use to us if we get lots of clicks, but nobody wants to value their house once they get to our website).
We also require the original files used to make the ads so that we can easily make minor modifications, for example, the original illustrator files if this is the tool used.
You are welcome to propose your own copy, we have had success with the following:
"What is my house worth?"
"Free online house valuation. Just takes 30 seconds"
"Spend just 30 seconds to get a free valuation"
The most important things to emphasize are that it is quick, easy, and free.
Feel free to visit http://homeval.net/ to see our current design, we have licensed all creative on this page so you are free to incorporate it, but please don't feel like you must base your design on this - all that matters is how many people we can attract to the website who want to value their homes, and this is the criteria upon which ads will be judged.
