We're a web publishing outfit based in the UK. WorldTV.com is our flagship site and this is the first in a series of design updates we have planned for the site. Additional work beyond this is a possibility.
This brief is for an uncoded design eg Photoshop.

We're targeting the same audience that might like Vimeo, Mailchimp, Picnik, SmugMug or Twitter.
Our site is a platform for consumer video publishers. The page design in question is a page for our publishers to customize and display individual video clips, like a custom YouTube individual video page.
A 'landing page for single video clips', similar in concept to an individual video page on YouTube or Vimeo.
Clips are generally part of a collection which we call a Channel. The page will feature other videos from the Channel, and display the Channel logo, and possibly details about the clip, social features, etc.
Key Page Components
The Player: Please design an original video player with minimal controls (we really like Vimeo's player for example)
An Ad space: We are open to creative solutions for how best to fit an IAB ad-space into the above-the-fold space. One example might be the adspace displayed as a billboard against a landscape.

We plan to offer multiple themes so we may award multiple prizes. TO CLARIFY. WE MAY MAKE ADDITIONAL AWARDS ABOVE AND BEYOND THE $500 FIRST PRIZE. SECOND PRIZE MIGHT BE AN ADDITIONAL $250 FOR EXAMPLE.
